According to the Police, Zakaria is currently in custody and assisting with investigations into the incident. He is expected to be put before the court following the completion of the necessary investigative processes.

Meanwhile, the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Bureau is expected to establish what led to the alleged assault and determine whether any officers or other individuals breached established professional standards.

The Police Service has indicated that any person found culpable will be subjected to the appropriate disciplinary processes in accordance with its rules and regulations.

The development comes as the viral video continues to generate public concern over the treatment of suspects and the need for law enforcement personnel to uphold professionalism and respect for human rights during arrests and investigations.
