NIA announces new fees for Ghana card services

The Ghanaian National Identification Authority (NIA) has revised the costs associated with managing and registering Ghana cards. First-time registration is still free at NIA District and Regional offices, however services in Premium Centers and card replacements now cost more.
As of January 2026, the current fee schedule consists of:

Those who want faster services at specific premium locations are subject to these fees:
GH₵310.00 for first-time registration.
Replacement of a lost, stolen, or damaged card costs GH₵420.00.

Charges for District and Regional Offices
In general, services in regular government offices are less expensive:
Registration is free for the first time.
Card Replacement: GH₵125.00; Personal Information Update (including replacement): GH₵60.00; Renewal: GH₵60.00.
