Aramco Shuts World’s Largest Refinery After Iranian Drone Strike Sparks Fire
Global energy markets are in turmoil today as Saudi Aramco suspended operations at its massive Ras Tanura refinery. The shutdown follows a targeted drone strike by Iranian forces early Monday morning, marking a drastic escalation in the burgeoning conflict between Tehran and the U.S.-Israeli coalition.

According to the Saudi Defense Ministry, at least two drones were intercepted over the refinery complex at approximately 07:04 local time. While the aircraft were successfully downed, falling shrapnel and debris ignited a “limited fire” at the facility.
