Management of Bills Micro-Credit Limited has officially responded to a viral social media video showing a heated confrontation between its field officers and a mother carrying a child.
The incident is of serious concern to the company. From the video currently in circulation, the woman appears to have attempted to retrieve a mobile phone from one of the officers while holding a baby, during which she unfortunately fell. The situation is deeply regrettable, and management has immediately initiated a full internal investigation to establish the complete facts surrounding the incident.
Bills Micro-Credit Limited is a regulated financial institution and operates under strict professional and ethical standards.
In the meantime, management is taking the necessary steps to reach out to the affected woman as part of efforts to ensure that the matter is addressed appropriately and resolved responsibly.
In addition, the officers have been handed over to the Ghana Police Service to assist with independent investigations into the matter.
The Board has also reached out to the customer involved and will continue to engage with her as the investigations proceed.
